Whats The Best Hair Straightener Brand?

I'm looking for a hair straightener that will straighten my hair really well and also make it look sort of soft and shiney!

Also a hair straightener that dosen't damage your hair badly.

ghds are the best brand out on the market, even hair salons use them so that just proves that they are good. Although they are expensive they last for years and years and dont tug on your hair. However Ghds get incredibly hot so i use Tresemme heat defense - it is cheap and does make a difference, it also helps your hair soft and shiny, if you were to get GHDS make sure you get them from a salon or on the official ghd website, there are many people selling fakeones.

If you decide GHDs are too dear then go for a product with ceramic blades, these are the best which prevent tugging on your hair as you straighten.

for me i didn't want to get anything too pricy or anything that would ruin your hair like after 1 week of using it !

GHD's are noo

they make your hair dry and crisy after a few months using them and they break really easily.

also they cost 拢120 which is wayyy to epensive for a straightners.

i use remington, they make my hair feel moist even if i don't use heat protection spray and they cost about 拢50. they work really well and can keep my hair straight for up to 3 says even if it rains

the best straightener in the market is the Sedu!trust me i've used alot of irons and this one works!it leaves my hair so straight sleek shiny and smooth and dosent damage as much as other straighteners:)i highly recomend a Sedu:)

My favorite brand is the Chi. It doesnt damage your hair too much if you use a heat protecting spray. The Chi only takes like ten minutes and it makes your hair look soft and shiny like you wanted most of the time. If it doesn't you can just but hair stuff in your hair.

I use a conair one. it works great. it's def. not the best but it does work good.

okay, first off, this is from experience advice! i spent $150 in total looking for the right hair straightener. go buy a chi. it's about $125-ish. a bit more or a bit less. u can buy it online or from a good store(ulta near my house sells it but i dont think all ultas sell it) chi works so well! im happy with it. they have a life time warranty(depending on where u buyit). i've had mine for 3 years and have not had a single problem w/it. it professionally straightend ur hair and in about 10-20 minutes if u have wavy/puffy hair. buy it! i promise u, u;; not regret it.
I have used the CHI and it is great but one that is just as great and lasted much longer for me; I have very thick wavy hair, is the ION Straightener from Sally's it is $70 to $80 and it is my best friend.

Whichever one you do get, work in smaller sections for better results.

Hm... I think you could go for either the CHI or an In-Styler.

I'm not sure if the In-Styler is as great as it says in the commercials, but it seems to have so many high ratings/reviews, so it must be good.

And it separates hair shafts so it'll be shinier and sleek.

But, as for the CHI, I've tried my friend's and it's pretty good. Like, a 4.5/5. And to avoid damage with the CHI, (all straighteners cause damage actually) use the CHI Silk Infusion. Put some on your hands and run it through your hair, starting at the ends first to have less damage done.

Any straightener that says 'nano' or has 'nano' whatevers, in it, is reallyreallyreally great. The nano technology adds moisture than your hair instead of drying it all up like a regular straightener. I got one and i love it. It was actually rated better than the popular brand everyone knows, CHI. They are a little pricy, but DEFINETELY worth it. And any hair straightener will damage your hair, so i reccommend getting a heat protection spray. I use Got2B ';Guardian Angel';. Just spray it on a section of your hair, run a brush through it then straighten it, and it actually helps A LOT with how your hair looks after it's straightened, it will improve it a ton!
I would def. recommend CHI. They last for years (my sister has one that is about 7 or 8 years old) and they heat up in seconds! If you want shiny hair you might want to get the i.CHI instead. It makes hair shiny, smooth, and silky, and that's without product in it! If you want a heat tamer, you could also buy the CHI products or you could also get Tresemme, it works really good for me and is cheaper (i buy it at walmart for $4). I would buy the CHI in a salon though, because if anything happens to it they won't give you another straightener unless its bought at a store. Also keep very good care of it. Don't wrap the cord around it and read the manual that comes with it, if you do get it.

i have the CHI nano and its amazing! i have very curly hair and my hair is done in less than 30 minutes!! it also leaves it feeling silky smooth and not burnt off like a lot of other companies sometimes do! i highly recommend it! it's a little pricy but is totaly worth it! think of it as an investment!!

and it only takes me 10 minutes to straighten my hair

well i have REALLY horrible hair its curly but you cant brush it all its frizy and like yours.... the in-styler worked amazing i recomend it highly....no matter how hot the brush it will NOT burn your hair and it makes my hair super shiny

I would say that CHI is the best! I own a pink chi bling and I think chi's are the best kind I went to beauty school so I got to use all different kinds and chi is the best one i think. alot of people say there's breaks after a year or two but it's because they don't take care of them. With any straightener you get even if it's not a chi you still have to take precautions for its care. You have to unplug it when your not using it and don't rap the cord around it let it be loose to prevent it from shorting out. keep it in a safe place where it can't be knocked down or hurt. be gentle with the on/off switch because they can be fragile and get weak after a year or so or to many firm clicks. also the chi and other pricier straighteners get up to really high degrees so make sure you buy a thermal protectant spray so your hair doesn't start breaking off. hope this helped good luck.

What Hair Straightener brand is the best?

I have shoulder length thin hair (blonde if it matters) that is wavy and it gets sooo annoying because it gets really frizzy and ugly in humidity, everyone says I should get a hair straightener but I want to know which brand is the best for making hair less frizzy. If you know something else that is good for de-frizzing your hair please tell me! Also, don't say brands that are expensive, I want to keep the price around $30, so please don't bother to say the Chi or something like that.What Hair Straightener brand is the best?

For $30, you won't really get something that will be that effective.

Before getting my Diva I've tried brands like Remingtion and Vidaal and Sasson, that were around $60 AUD.

The did the job in about 3x longer than a better straightener, and the coating on the plates came off which caused breakage and snagging.

I can't recommend a specific straightener as I'm not sure which country you live in, but here are some good features to look out for:

Ceramic plates with Tourmaline.

Heats up to no higher than around 210 degrees Celcius.

Automatic turn off after no use in 1 minute (is a bonus, I have burnt many things accidentally by leaving it on. Including carpet, my shorts, and my cousins finger!)

A 1-2 year warranty is also good.

I think Chi sits ontop of that mountain....But for how long i'm not sure after i have seen the new wave of Irons by Designer Melissa Kaye that just released in the usa....They are all over ebay ! These irons are under $20 and they work absolutly wonderful! They have all the features of other brands like swivel power cords and adjustable temperatures (430F max on there irons)and they even have a lifetime warranty!...I think they will be the new cost effective wave to hit for this holiday season. An expensive straightener doesn't necessarily promise a good quality straightener.

The CHI works very well, but just for about 2-3 months. Since it's so sleek, it can break very easily. And it really dries up your hair.

I like the Remmington. I got mine from Target for $40. I've had it for almost 2 years now and it's still in perfect condition. It completely gets rid of all poof in my hair, and it straightens it really easily. My hair is thick and reaches my bra strap. It takes me just 5-7 minutes to straighten my hair. It lasts till I shampoo my hair.

since it dries hair, you should condition ur hair every other day. if you really dont have to straighten ur hair on a certain day, then dont, it could really keep ur hair from getting damaged.

I have a CHI, had it over a year and it still works like new. It is a bit pricey but you said that not an issue. Aside from a good iron you also should invest in some good hair products.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

I Would Suggest The Remington Wet2Straight Ceramic Hair Straightners.

They Dont Damage Your Hair And Can Also Work On Wet Hair.. So You Dont Have To Take Ages Blow Drying.

I'd say Andrew Collinge, I've tried many types and they've not been great but have worked, GHD just make your hair dry and make the fly aways more visible so i wouldn't recommend them.

Andrew collinge cost about 拢50 but you can get cheaper, i've got 2 pairs of his straightners they're good also his conditioners and heat defense sprays are great! xx

I have a chi, I love it! My mom and I both have wavy hair thats not too crazy but its really ';puffy'; especially in humidity, but we both have a chi and its wonderful. I guess it depends on your hair type though.

Well Chi are great, and GHD are also fantastic, but very expensive!

I have a VIDAL SASSON which only cost $35, amazingly it works just as well as my friends Chi!
I got a CHI and I love it.

If you're talking inexpensive, then Vidal Sassoon is a very good brand.

You can buy those at Walmart for just $25.

I've tried the expensive professional ones, and they have either worn out wayyy too early or they didn't do the job well.
An affordable one is Remington wet to straight about $30. An excellent one is Paul Mitchell line about $100.
CHI is the best, but it's so expensive.

The CHI breaks easily and has a very limited warranty. Try the Sedu. That is what I use and my hair is nothing but thick curls.....

I would also recommend using a 1 inch instead of 1 1/2 inch, because the 1 1/2 doesn't do curls very well.

It reaches 410 degrees, with tempature control if you would like a lower tempature. CHI does not have tempature control. That means if the set tempature is too high for your hair, it can fry.

Celebrities have nice hair, and they don't use CHI. They use Sedu. There is something called Sedu hairstyles on every beauty website. No CHI hairstyles right?

Never use on wet hair.

The say GHD is the best for around $300, I use a babybliss and there is no difference between the two, it also lets you curl your hair. Babybliss is around $200 but I got mine on sale.

GHD definately - but it's expensive. The advantage with GHD as well is that it will also allow you to curl your hair - ask a hairdresser to show you how to do it - it's the only brand that can curl as well as straighten.

I tend to just go to cos-cuts and I get those $15 straightners and I find that they work better than my friends which are remington that cost $100. But to get the top I'd have to say GHD.

I would have to say the Chi is the best. It's a little more expensive than 100 but it's totally worth it.

When I get my hair cut, my hair dresser uses a Paul Mitchel straightener, it looks wonderfull and it even has different settings for the heat temp.

I'd also use the Chi products along with it, they'll leave your hair shiny and repair.
no actually I havae the Chi iron and u do not need to be a professional to buy one. My beaution told be that Sally sold them and i bought one. Yes this is the number one flat iron out but u must buy the spray that comes with it if u do not want your hair to take heat damage and break out. Don't buy Chi! There are better straighteners out there!

I know most people are saying Chi is the best but it's not. Chi is good but it's only above average. If you want the best you're going to have to go with something that's more professional. I've tried several flat irons and so far my favorite is Solia. It's a little more pricey than Chi but definitely worth the extra money. I've not tried Sedu (it's gonna be my next flat iron when my Solia stops working) but I've heard that it works great (it's suppose to be one of the best you can buy). The biggest down fall is that it's more expensive than Chi and Solia.

Oh and before I forget, if you want good flat irons at a reasonable price check out Folica.com. They've got a huge selection and really good prices. Plus they ship their products really fast.

Edit: Conair, Remington, and Revlon will do nothing but damage your hair. They won't even heat up enough to make your hair stay straight all day. Don't waste your money on these cheap drugstore brands.
It all depends on how much you are willing to spend. Ive heard that CHI makes really good hair irons but they can run you about $60-$100.00 in price.

If your looking for a good but inexpensive iron look at Conair, Remington or Revlon. All make really good irons.

Chi and GHD flat irons are the best. They both cost about $100 but they last forever. They both are ceramic so they get to extreme heats fast! They both have a temperate control to where you can set it at whatever temperature you use. You should look up the chi though. You can get them for about $70 on ebay. GHD and Chi are the best ones, I have a Toni and Guy and it works really well, it was only 60 bucks too, which isnt too bad. It really depends on your hair, if your hair straighten's easily then you dont really need a very expensive one.

I love anything with ceramic plates, or ceramic coated plates. They are the best for your hair. Depending on how much you want to spend at a given time, you can go with a cheaper ceramic coated one, (which will last a few months) or go for an expensive one with ceramic plates that will last a lot longer. I recommend the HAI Ceramic Flat iron. Its only about $80 and is amazing! Ive had mine for 5 years and it still works just as great as when i first bought it. I have very thick hair tht is very curly also.. %26amp; this keeps my hair straight %26amp; really soft throught the day.

JC Penney beauty salon sells the Ceramic hair straighteners.

I bought the Jilbre de Paris Nano Ceramic Ionic 1 1/4'; Flat Iron From Sallys and I love them. They are really hot and don't catch your hair and break it off while your moving down the length. Don't pay high prices of the Chi. I paid about 65.00 for mine and it is the same thing as the original Chi. All your doing is paying for the name now. the Jilbre is just as good.

Chi flat irons are on sale at Costco for $80 now, so you might want to check that out if you are a Costco member. You may have to call your local Costco to see if they have any in stock. Otherwise, you can ask which Costco has them and they can help you locate one. :)

I have used GHDs for five years and they are truly amazing. They slide through your hair so easily and make the hair so sleek and smooth. you can also curl hair with them. All good salons use them. I would never recommend straightening your hair every day though: the heat is just too much. I strighten mine with the hair dryer over a round brush for work and with the straighteners for social occations.

I have a Babyliss and its fine. Cost around 100.00. I don't love it, but don't dislike it either.

The Sedu is very lightweight and heats up quickly. The CHI is a little heavier, and supposedly easy to short out.

If you have very thin hair, you can buy cheap straighteners (like conair) but if your hair is thick and wavy, GHD is a good choice. I like the sedu too.
GHDs are really good but expensive. If you're worried about your hair getting damaged by straighteners, it's more about the temperature that they are and you can protect your hair by using a serum.
I heard Chi is the best but I have a conair with the felt on the outside and I love it! If you use a flatiron spray like the Chi brand you'll be fine.
ANYTHING from salons or salon supplies ! Trust me....don't settle for less ! Anything from Walmart, Zellers ect. is not worth it !

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons, including Sedu, HAI, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss GHD, T3, Kenta etc.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, GHD. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: CHI, HAI, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Worst: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, DO not buy them.
Yeah, Wyndells. Or Windells. They sell them in Bubbles. Same with the Chi, a sexy straightener ;) Haha.
I use a Chi straightener and it made my hair soft and touchable. Even when it is very humid, it holds the style. And even if you have had your hair in a ponytail all day after using this straightener, when you take it out, your hair is still pin straight. Hope this helped!

they have LOTS of straighteners, for all kinds.. they come in wet to dry or just plain dry.. the best for plain dry hair is Sedu, i just got mine off folica. Wet to dry actually damages your hair more and i dont recommend it.

But try Sedu, it's freakin amazing.. makes your hair feel so nice and it goes to a really high temperature.

Definitely GHD - I've got really coarse curly hair and they transform it! I bought mine from ebay but you have to be EXTREMELY careful to get a real one and not a fake. I was lucky this time but a friend of mine got duped. They are definitely worth the investment even if you buy direct from GHD. I bought my daughters that way and don't regret a penny of what they cost.

Depending on your hair length I fully recommend the wide salon size. A good straightening protection spray is Trevor Sorbie Straightening Addict which you can get at Boots. I would defiantly recommend GHD. I've owned mine for 4 years. My hair is naturally quite frizzy and with these I don't need to straighten my hair every day. It doesn't take long to straighten your hair either.

I brought mine at my local hair salon for 拢130 (pricey but so worth it) but you can also buy online at www.ghdhair.com
GHD, on their website or on ebay or something. Or in many hair salons. I however use Remington, which in my opinion work just as well. GHD's cost around 拢100. And my remingtons cost me 拢20. Just make sure they are ceramic, heat upto around 200C and heat up quick :)x

you can try braun to, they're professional, but it depends on your hair, if its really curly you'll need proffesional but if its wavy you should stick with panasonic...
GHD hav e always been seen as the best but others have now caught them up - you want ones that get to 260 degrees - decide on whether you want thick or thin plates. I have morphy richards and love them

I've never tried a Solia hair straightener, so I can't vouch for that one but I have tried a Chi. Chi hair straighteners are awesome, there's no other that even comes close. I got this trial one that's really good directly from the Chi company itself. All I needed to do was try it out for at least 60 days and then give feedback every few days.

It works really awesome, it just heats up super fast and takes me about 5 minutes to straighten my hair and I got really long wavy hair.

I've had my Chi for 4 years and it STILL gets hot in literally seconds and does an amazing job. Before my Chi I had a crappy thick straightner (dont remember the name, but it was a well known brand recommended by friends) and it worked well the first month and then it took forever to get hot and just didn't do a good job.

I swear by Chi, I will never by another straightner by a different brand

I've used Hot Tools for the past 5 years. It has heat settings so you can make it hotter if you have thick or very curly hair and cooler if you have fine or wavy hair. It's $50 - a lot more affordable than the CHI and I think it works much better.

i think it depends on your hair type. i have used conair before, but it wasnt great for my hair. i have lots of hair and it's curly. conair took so long to get hot and was just a waste of money. bedhed is just ridiculous with its pricing. my suggestion is to buy revlon; that's what i use. it has a great price, and it works great.

CHIs' and Paul Mitchell Straighteners work wonderfully. Both are commonly used in salons and in households. These work really good, but I'm not sure exactly where they are sold in India(I'm Indian BTW.) You can buy them online, and it's worth it! They don't cause the bad frizz when you straighten your hair. It will look sleek and beautiful. Doesn't out-burn your hair...It's wonderful.

Girl, I've had this problem my entire life!

First off, I have extremely thick, frizzy, curly hair. It's so difficult to straighten, lol.

I have used EVERY drugstore straightener out there, they just make my hair look like a mess. However, the best one that I tried was the Remmington Wet/Dry one. (only use it on the dry setting, never straighten your hair when it's wet unless you want to damage it!)

After being extremely frustrated with straightening it every day, I went and got the Japanese straightening treatment on it, so that I could just shower and not worry about it when I got out, it'd just be nice and sleek. However, that was the only thing it could be: straight. It wouldn't curl at all. I didn't like not having the option.

A year passed and the treatment wore out, and I got a Chi. It was great! I could straighten my hair in about 25 minutes, and it was shiny and beautiful at the end.

Recently, I got a GHD and seriously do not know how I ever lived without it. It heats up in about 10 seconds, I'm able to style my hair in 8-15 minutes (it depends on my roommates distracting me, lol), and it is just such a beautiful product. It has a safety setting, so I never worry about leaving it on (turns off by itself), and most importantly it holds an even heat. A lot of straightening irons lose heat as you run it through your hair and you have to adjust the settings every once in a while to make sure it's at the proper temperature. I never worry about that with my GHD. It has ceramic plates which leave my hair SOOO shiny.

The short version:

Decent: Remmington wet/dry

Good: Chi (1'; - full size - DO NOT get the Chi Mini, it will BURN your hands lol I learned that the hard way)

BEST/AMAZING/TOTALLY worth the price - GHD
i used to have the frizziest hair in the world. my mom then bought me a vidal sassoon hair straightener... it's a life saver! even though i dont use it, my hair isnt that frizzy anymore :)

it uses tourmaline ceramic, which is good for your hair and apparently the more you use it, the more healthier your hair grows. i dont know if that's true but my hair is shinier and more obedient now :)

it can be wireless for 15 minutes also
The best hair straightener would have to be a GHD - perfect for thick and curly hair! You wont know yourself with one of these. The new ones actually scan your hair and they can tell how thick/fine it is and it adjusts the heat accordingly. They are not cheap but once you have one it will last you for many years.
i got a sako ultimate last christmas. best thing i have ever bought. it turns itself off after 30 minutes. it beeps when it is ready. im not sure what the temperature is but its over 200. i personally think it is better then a ghd. me and my friend straightened my other friends hair(she had really really curly hair) and my half was flatter and straighter and less frizzy then hers. i was using a sako, she was using a ghd

Be less concerned with brands and more concerned with content. Look for something that has keratin as a primary ingredient. Keratin strengthens hair, not fancy brands.

i have a h.a.i. straightner. it's a 2 inch, and i love it! i've always heard good things about chi's too. my sis loves them. the smaller the size, the closer you can get to the scalp. so if the wave starts pretty close to the scalp, i'd suggest a 1 inch or so, but if you have somewhat straight hair, that it's more like straightening the kinks out and you want to save a little time, i'd use a 2 inch.What are some good hair straightener brands?

Yikes, $80.00? Well, The instyler is 99.99 (not including tax.) You can get it at Bed Bath and Beyond. It can straighten,curl, or make a wave to your hair. It hardly damages your hair and makes a shine to your hair. It can do almost anything! Lol maybe there is some christmas sales at Bed Bath and Beyond. OH! If you want a quality straightener, you need to be willing to spend $120+. CHI straighteners definitely do the job effectively, they just wreck your hair faster because of the metal. There was one brand that stuck out to me (can't remember the name though). They come in purple, pink, and black I believe (if that helps narrow it down any) and they have no metal in them at all. They work amazing and they don't damage your hair. They're regularly $200 but sometimes you can find them on sale for around $150 and they give a $30 discount to students, so that's something to think about. Anyways, hope that helps :) Good luck.

chi is a popular brand and it's widely available, but i've only ever heard good things about sedu, and i think i'm going to get it. you could try ghd; it's worth it to splurge a bit on a good straightener if you're going to use it regularly.

I've heard CHI is the best, and that's the flat iron I plan to buy when I replace my old one. I'm currently using Revlon Style X, and it has served me well over the years.

Don't buy anything cheaper than $40.00, though. Flat irons are one of those things where quality corresponds directly to price - you don't want to fry your hair!
I have one from BedHead and it's the best one I've had. They have one made for long hair and one for short. Plus the lights on it change according to the temperature.
chi's are great! also a nano is too. i use it and it works great, better than the chi i had.

i have a chi and it works great but my hairstylist uses a cricket when she does my hair and she said its the best flat iron she has ever had. I plan on buying a cricket when my chi goes out. You are going to pay $75-$100 though. cheap flat irons don't heat up fast enough and don't get very hot. To me its worth paying the extra money for a nice one.
